I'm most at home with the transition from Lyrical to Stillness. I just love that delicate space of fullness, lightness and awakening to the vastity of what is in the present moment. It's delicious, peaceful, enlightening. As a 43 year old, I have traveled and achieved a lot. I have been very Staccato to get to where I am at and now, I guess, I am in a "mature state" of enjoying living in a 5 acre propriety in the country, near beautiful water wholes (Australia), with my cat and horse. In 1995 while living in London, UK, I friend took me to John Kelly's Friday night class and I have never stopped since.
The 5R practice is a meditation, not like the sitting meditation that Buddha taught us, but the kind of meditation that calls for our full awareness while being in movement. In Zorba the Buddha retreat, we will dance outdoors, looking at a beautiful mountain, a dam, birds & wild life. At times we will be at the creek, becoming still like a rock while water is moving thought us or we move like water noticing what is still around us. It is a very empowering experience that reconnects us to our truth nature as part of a natural environment. When we dance the Rhythms and arrive to Stillness, we have the potential to re-connect with the Buddha in us. The Buddha is the witness; he/she is at peace and unity with its environment. There is no more fight or struggle. There is acceptance, compassion and gratitude. This is our truth nature.
