Women's 5Rhythms
Weekend Workshop
The Red Shoes
Now Online.
Friday night - 6.30-9.30pm (Melbourne, Australian time).
Saturday and Sunday 2-5.30pm.
But we can still do this - online.
We'll be dancing the story of The Red Shoes, from Clarissa Pinkola Estes' pivotal book - Women Who Run with the Wolves. This is a story of obsession, of aspirations, of deceptions, and of wounding. In this workshop, through the 5Rhythms map, we'll explore our relationships with food, with our image, our addictions, and our true desires. With insight from the wolf, we'll look at our own traps, our yearnings for the wilderness, and our longing for wholeness.
Friday night - open night we will dance, explore the story of the red shoes and explore and embody the archetypal energies. In the workshop, on Saturday and Sunday, we'll deepen the exploration with a focus on our relationships to food, substances and more, and how we distract ourselves and avoid discomfort, pain and intensity. There will be an opportunity to search, meet and reach for 'the real thing,' as well as space for exploring the body-mind connections and sharing and reflecting on your stories and experiences with other women.
All hours with Natalie count towards the 5Rhythms teacher training pre-requisites - and if you'd like to count this workshop as a full weekend 15 hour workshop please be in contact, as there are some external exercises you can complete: twirlingwolf@gmail.com
Running with Wolves is our Women's 5Rhythms mindful and 'bodyful' movement workshops - now offered in Melbourne, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Hobart and Launceston!!
5Rhythms is a catalytic dance and movement practice, based on the creative flow of nature. Dancing a wave - activates and then settles our nervous system, and offers us a map for understanding our body’s own inner waves, the rhythms of nature, and the rhythms of the creative process.
This women's workshop explores the stories from the book 'Women Who Run with the Wolves,' by Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes. We work with one archetypal feminine story at a time - and use it as our basis for an embodied inquiry and dance. Running with Wolves - Women's 5Rhythms - offers us a regular ritual to honour ourselves, and our sisters.
In this workshop, we'll be reminded of our cyclic nature, of the ebbs and flows of our creativity and of our spiralling, unfolding pathway of our lives. We’ll dance and move together, to embody and reconnect with our physicality, and to witness and honour our sisters.
Just like the wolf, the female psyche has often been misunderstood, feared, and hunted to near extinction. Now is the time for the feminine way of being to return to our awareness. This is your invitation to track the movements and desires of your animal self, your deeper wisdom and to return to your fur-covered sensing self. This is your invitation to listen deeply. Do you hear the call?
We'll dance the 5Rhythms wave, work with the story and our own stories, embody the rhythms and the story with somatic exercises, work with authentic movement and have a cuppa together. This workshop is open to all women - no experience with the stories, or wolves or with dance is necessary! Come join us and dive into this supportive, liberating and empowering creative experience.
We dance and to get to the other side - the other side of our fear, our inner critic, our outer facade, our resistance, and we dance to get to the other side of our over-thinking, over-analysing selves. We dance to unleash, to remember, and to reignite our life-force.
