I first met the 5Rhythms in 2002 and began dancing them intensively in early 2003 with Sue Rickards in London, going so far as to move house so as to be near to the classes which I would attend several times a week. The teachers that helped me along this path include Gabrielle, Sue, Susannah, Jonathan, Silvija, Tammy, Alain and too many others to list here.
Originally trained as a graphic designer, with some mathematics and tech skills in the mix, I have worked to make a bridge between high technology and good human-centric design for many years. My love of music was instilled by my parents and alongside everything else I play percussion and compose music, which sometimes features in my classes.
I have always loved dance in all its forms, and the 5Rhythms set free my feet, unlocked my hips, loosened my head, and connected my breath. Whatever else I try, I always return to this movement practice, which has helped heal my soul and my body.
I greatly enjoy sharing my passion for 5Rhythms with the world, and helping find new dancers to expand our community, between London (where I spend a lot of my time), Brighton (where I live in between my travels) and far beyond.
Look out for new workshop offerings, to be announced early next year.
