In Threads of Discovery, hosted by Lisa DeLand and Suzie Gruber, we’ll spend two days together dancing the 5Rhythms interspersed with open-ended writing opportunities, creating opportunities to explore and honor the impulse to move with our bodies and through our words.
Throughout the weekend we’ll invite curiosity, kindness and attention into our discovery process as we explore ways to incubate, ways to express and ways to meet our busy minds as we expand our capacity for connection with ourselves and others.
Both certified by Gabrielle Roth in 2008 to offer the 5Rhythms, Suzie & I have been friends and collaborators for over 15 years. Curious and creative, we share a love of learning, growing and adventuring and of course, movement.
We will be providing paper and pens. If you have a favorite journal and pens, feel free to bring them.
We will take a break each day for light snacks and tea. You are welcome to bring more substantial foods for our break.
Loose, comfortable clothing and a water bottle are recommended.
Dance slippers or dance sneakers are optional for those not wanting to dance barefoot. (no street shoes) If you are a dance-in-my-socks person, we recommend rolling the heel portion up to your arch for safer traction.
We’re going to have a rich, full two days together so arriving in time to register and settle in for our Saturday 11am start time is greatly appreciated.
There is not a large, designated parking spot for The Gateway Building. There are around 10 spaces directly in front of the building, then a lot of street parking, etc. within a block. Parking in general in Hailey is free. We don't anticipate parking will be an issue-especially if folks are content walking a very short distance.
If you don’t feel well, have a fever, or are contagious, please stay home.
