We experience time in cycles. From the tiny cycles of breathing in and out, to the cycles of days, or the cycles of generations. The wave of the 5Rhythms dance is also a cycle. It starts from the body awareness, it wakens up our energy, moves it into a collective creation, arrives to joyful patterns and finally dissolves into breath. None of these cycles are simple repetitions. Changes always happen and they allow the next cycle to be different from the previous one.

On this retreat we put our attention on the cycle of our years. In what way was this year different from the previous one? What happened in it which created the seeds of change for the next year? What would be the essence of this year, which could create a fertile seed for the next year? How do we finish one cycle and start a new, allowing the freedom for the new cycle to be unique, and also allowing to build upon the blessings of previous cycles?

When you finish a cycle you arrive to a stillpoint. Where everything is halted for a moment, where everything seems to be suspended, where everything is in its place in harmony. This is the rhythm of stillness. The slowest point of the pendulum before it turns back, the vantage point where you can look back and forward, before plunging again into the flow of the next cycle. A moment of silence.

This retreat is open to everybody, no previous dance or 5Rhythms experience is needed. You are welcome regardless of your skills or abilities or fitness. The retreat will count as 18 hours of wave practice towards the 5Rhythms teacher training.
