Wild doesn't mean crazy... simply in relationship with our needs. A wild animal sleeps when it is tired, eats when it is hungry and takes shelter when there is rain. It has a mature internal guidance system which dances in relationship with the greater environment, and knows how to get its needs met. For most of us, this beautiful, instinctive voice has been over-riden so consistently since we were kids that it's almost impossible to hear, or value. And yet, if we are to have a life of vision, of nourishment, of joy and fulfilment, we need this voice as an ally. Underneath the prison of logic we have a wild animal self, with awakened senses and powerful wisdom. This is the song of our wild instinct.
This retreat is a chance to finally let go the shackles of 'should' and discover where our true power lies as we follow our instinct toward a life of Vision. We sniff deeply into our own tracks and follow the smallest trail into the jungles of our wisening heart. And there we meet ourselves, our own true nature, and dance what we find.
This will be a workshop of transformation through movement into the Waves map. Ultimately, your true teacher is the joy of your own bare feet, the shapes of your dancing body, the rich silence of your breath and the drum of your own heart. If you are willing to show up, to look inside with courage, and move what you find, you can dance through roadblocks you've been tripping over your whole life, and find a unique path that leads you home to oneness, unity, stillness and rebirth.
There will be local drummers to take us into tribal ecstasy, a jungle dance floor, we'll be staying in a stunning wilderness retreat centre, be spending time in nature, and be eating incredible permaculture food grown on site. You will be guided through the 5Rhythms map into a receptive state where the seeds of your Vision can be planted and start to grow. Using elements of Vision Quest and shamanic journeying (no plant medicines- we do this with pure awareness), we move into powerful trance states where healing can happen in a breath. Over the six nights we fall into a natural rhythm of connection, movement and rest, work and play, doing our sacred work in the company of our brothers and sisters of the dance, each of us on our own path, but all lighting each other's way.
