Life constantly calls upon us to change and shift and move into the unknown, and yet we constantly try to have things fixed, familiar and safe, fearing the change as if there was a way we could avoid it :) Sometimes it's a tiny shift in the everyday routine, sometimes a tectonic shift of our attitudes and beliefs; sometimes it's a change that is initiated from outside we need to adapt to, sometimes the change comes from within and we have to push against our surroundings to make space for it; sometimes it's a painful letting go, sometimes a dream come true.
"Transformation literally means going beyond your form." -- Wayne Dyer
Whatever it is, in order to have the change really happen, we need to let go of the old form,, even of the desired outcome, of all the control over the transformation process, take a leap of faith, allow the mystery to shake us up, and be open for the change to take us into a new unknown territory.
“We are what we repeatedly do.” -- Aristotle.
In dancing the 5 RhythmsTM we practice being grounded in our bodies and holding the clear intention for our actions even in the unknown territory, even while totally surrendering to the bigger wave, even when deeply letting go. We practice being open to the tiny changes in our movements or big sweeps of the dance and trust the mystery of the unknown, thus teaching our whole psyche the tools of staying present in the midst of any kind of change and building courage to take a leap of faith when we most need it.
