In the Beat... with Our Mother Tongue
Waves
DESCRIPTION
IN THE BEAT... WITH OUR MOTHER TONGUE
February 21st is designated as International Mother Language Day by UNESCO.
"Multilingualism is a source of strength and opportunity for humanity. It embodies our cultural diversity and encourages the exchange of views, the renewal of ideas and the broadening of our capacity to imagine." -- Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General
The dance and the beat are central to who we are as humans and, of course, to the 5Rhythms -- both are embedded in our mother tongue. On International Mother Tongue Day, we'll explore our own capacity to ground, exchange views, live in diversity, expand our imagination and peacefully be with it all. Using music from around the world, come join us as we pay special homage to leading and following as a tribe.
