5 Rhythms brings freedom beyond words. Guerilla Rhythms is an approach to offering 5 Rhythms that I have developed over the last five years. Rather than having a theme or a fixed plan, I prepare nothing in advance. It is all about trust, creativity and the alchemy of our meeting on the dance floor. Every time it has been offered as a day workshop, it has been profoundly beautiful. Now, for the first time, we have a whole Guerilla weekend! And a party!

We'll dance 5 Rhythms on the Saturday afternoon. Hang out, eat together and party in the evening then dance some more on the Sunday. Dancing takes place in the spacious Newby and Scalby Community Hall. There is camping in the gorgeous Hay Brow Campsite within walking distance.

A key to Guerilla Rhythms is accessibility. There is usually no fixed rate, dancers pay what they can afford. This event is, in part a fundraiser for my Heartbeat training so the money side works slightly differently. Heartbeat is the 5 Rhythms map of the emotions, deep, catalytic and profoundly healing work. I feel honoured to have been accepted on the training and humbled at the prospect of offering this work. It has taken a lot of trust to step onto this path. I have been teaching 5 Rhythms for 9 years. For the first six years, I consciously made a financial loss and subsidised the dance with my machining work. I now teach full time and I have very little money. In addition to the training costs, I have to raise money for flights accomodation etc.

If you are drawn to this event or you would like to support me in the training, please be as generous as you are able; a weekend of 5 Rhythms would usually cost between £60 and £100. Tickets are a fixed rate of £25 with the option of making an additional donation - or you could chip in some more when you are here. There are also non-attending tickets available for anyone who can't make it, you can buy a flat rate ticket for £5 and make an additional donation if you wish.
