The gateway of the body is a powerful vessel that allows us to move and be moved. It is a tool that ignites connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. 

The 5Rhythms practice awakens our innate connection to the energies of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical & Stillness. Come investigate how these powerful energetic states bring to awareness of the natural wisdom threaded by birth, life and death.

This workshop will be held during a time in our calendar that is universally recognized as a gateway. It is a time when the veil between worlds thins. This is a time for spiritual reflection, an opportunity for shedding what is no longer needed. This workshop serves as a bridge for introspection, releasing fears, calling on courage and cultivating both soul and physical renewal.

We will open this workshop with a ritual and dance that connects us to honoring loved ones who have passed and acknowledging their continued presence in our lives.

Every body is welcome - no experience is required.

This workshop counts as 15 hour of Waves credit towards the 5Rhythms® teachers training.

**NB this is a full immersion and there will be no open dance on Friday. This is deep transformative work and there is a need to create a strong container and begin the work altogether.

Health and safety:

We want you, Lucia, producer, crew and the workshop participants to feel as safe as possible during the weekend together. Please support the workshop community by not attending the workshop if you have any signs of cold, flu, covid or any other contagious health issues or if you have been in regular close contact with someone who has.

Lucia's Bio:

Lucia Horan was born and raised in the Esalen community and is a leader, wife, and mother. She has been teaching since 1998. Lucia received lifelong direct training with Gabrielle Roth in the 5Rhythms® method. She is formally empowered to teach Buddha dharma in all capacities. She is a certified Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness teacher. Her unique perspectives on insight have been published in the book Dancing with Dharma: Essays on Movement And Dance in Western Buddhism. Additionally, Lucia is a somatic educator for Tony Robbins Life Wealth Master, PepsiCo Latin America DEI dept, and GoogleX Moonshot Factory. She co-teaches focus groups in Buddhist meditation, emotional intelligence, grief work, and women’s empowerment.

Urban Waves 5Rhythms with Sue Andersen is thrilled to produce Lucia Horan again in 2026.
