We love to dance. All that life and energy moving through our body, without our having to think about it. Such liberation, so truly alive!
And we each have our own particular dance ~ our signature moves, our personal style. Because, once we’ve found our freedom with it, how we move is a reflection of who we are.
Which is great.. until we get tired of it. Being the specific being that is me is both a delightful opportunity, and a limitation. Here I am again, even on the dancefloor, in all my brilliance, with all my boring stuff..
But if my dance is a mirror of who I am, then by changing and expanding the ways in which I move, I can change and grow into new ways of being me. It’s a two-way street ~ we can use the thing we love to open the door to exciting new possibilities in ourselves.
This weekend we’ll go back to the building blocks of our movement - big, small, fast, slow, forward, back, hands, feet, hips, spine, breath.. - and see where we could expand the range of our dance to include new possibilities. Embracing all that we could become, because in the end the freedom that we crave is free from any particular shape or pattern - the freedom to truly be all of it!
