DESCRIPTION

The rhythm of ‘Lyrical’ is intricate and elusive, it’s not something that we can ‘get’ and we can’t fake it. We find that nothing is fixed, particularly our identities, and we can enjoy the freedom of shapeshifting, so as never get stuck in any one possibility.This is the rhythm of maturity, where we’re creating our own reality, taking responsibility for our own lives, celebrating having survived this far, lightening up! This rhythm has it’s shadow too: getting so caught up in a fantasy or daydream that we disconnect from our bodies, hearts and minds and float around ourselves like a weird cloud! So, in this workshop, the intention is to create space for a Lyrical dance: to connect with the ground of our bodies, the fire of our hearts and the fluidity of the intuitive mind, and to welcome the joy of a matured, lyrical, shapeshifting dance.
