Freedom Dances will be offered regularly on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month—at the same time and place. This is thanks to a wonderful collaboration between three fantastic, seasoned teachers: Sylvie Minot, Sapana Doshi, and Kamla Sufi. The three facilitators are committed to creating healing spaces through movement for the BIPOC community.
AUG 3 — Sylvie Minot's BIPOC dance will Be Sweat Your Prayers. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. The doors close at 10:50 am, so please arrive early enough to get checked in. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
Sweat Your Prayers™ is not just a dance practice; it's a sacred journey into the depths of our souls, guided by the wisdom of movement and the power of intention. Created by 5Rhythms founder Gabrielle Roth, this transformative practice invites us to explore the divine within ourselves and the world around us.
In Sweat Your Prayers™, we merge our bodies with the music, surrendering to the rhythm of our breath and the beat of our hearts. Through this embodied prayer, we awaken our senses, release stagnant energy, and embrace the fullness of our being.
This practice is open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or experience level. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, you'll find a welcoming and inclusive space to explore and express yourself authentically.
There are no steps to follow, no right or wrong way to move; let your body lead the way and trust in the wisdom of your own movement. Guided by Sylvie Minot's gentle presence, we'll dance in silence, allowing the music to speak to our souls and guide us on our liberating journey of self-discovery.
