DESCRIPTION
SAVE THE DATE! This monthly Sunday dance is at the Convent NOT St Bs!
To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. Sweat is an ancient and universal form of self healing, whether done in the gym, the sauna, or the sweat lodge. I do it on the dance floor. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy.
Gabrielle Roth, Sweat Your Prayers
Sunday Sweats are music-only, un-facilitated, 2 x 1 hour 5Rhythms Waves offered by both Moving Essence teachers David Juriansz and Meredith Davies. It helps to have been to a 5Rhythms class before but it’s not essential.
We offer a regular monthly Sunday Sweat at St Bs but get two opportunities each year to return to where the Sunday dance began. So we change it up to stay connected with this special place. This will be our 2024 ‘Summer Convent Sweat’
Our connection with the Convent via these dance sessions goes back 16 years and we studied here as 20-something’s before it became the destination it is today. Abbotsford Convent is a charismatic historic venue, with plenty of eating venues and picnic spots on the site. Rosina Auditorium is a large, light venue close to grassy lawns and a places to explore. Children are welcome to attend if supervised.
We don’t get to offer regularly at the Convent any more so these are rare, special Sunday morning dances.
