In April 2012 Gabrielle Roth came to teach in Montreal at a workshop I produced, my eleventh collaboration with her since 1985. She died later that year in October. Her body appeared frail and weak and yet her mind and her spirit were still vital. In the car driving her, Robert and Jonathan to the airport I asked her, “Gabrielle you used to do sound and voice work in your teachings. What happened?” She kind of shrugged in a curious way and said, “Let’s explore that next time I see you.” And of course I never saw her again.
This is an invitation to open the door of the relationship of breath, sound, voice and movement to the moving Lyrical spirit of the 5Rhythms.We will explore many 5Rhythms waves and be together in the unified field.
From Tanya, in the current 5Rhythms Teacher Training.
“I really enjoy exploring sound and there is something playful and freeing about it. During the exploration with movement and sound I noticed the sound ‘I” made my jaw tighter and the sound “A” felt naturally relaxing and created connection and softness in my hips. The sound “O” felt soft , easy and spacious. I became very aware of the tightness around my hips almost like a blockage or a separation between my pelvis/lowerbody and my upper body. I noticed it through the sounds.”
