About 5Rhythms
Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free. Creativity. Connection. Community.
About the Waves map
The Dancing Path begins with Waves, the foundation and fundamentals of the practice. The Rhythms of FLOWING, STACCATO, CHAOS, LYRICAL and STILLNESS are guiding us into an embodied state of Being. The Focus of the Waves level is experiencing the body as a fluid entity, with the outcome that we discover our feet and stop holding our breath.

Creating a Safe Container
We ask that you not share the zoom link with anyone who has not registered for this class as we want to build a safe and aligned container. Multiple dancers of the same household are welcome to join on a single link.
You may turn off your camera at any point if you would prefer not to be seen.
If anyone engages in inappropriate behavior during the class, they will be removed by the Host.
We ask you to not record the session, and not post any screenshots where other participants are viewable.
Preparation
Make sure your computer or device is plugged in or charged fully.
If you like your music loud, we recommend using powered speakers that amplify the sound. For optimal sound quality, hardwire into a speaker is best. This can be done through an auxiliary channel. Though it is possible, we do not recommend using bluetooth or anything wireless for the best sound and video quality.
Wear comfortable clothing.
Please set your space in a way that feels good to you.
Barefoot dancing is recommended for safety and connection to root.
Please have your water close by.
